About Me

My photo
Hi, my name is Amy I have lived in Louisiana my entire life and have been in the cosmetology business for over 20 years. I have always had a love for fashion, makeup, hair and traveling which in a way is what led to me starting this blog. I've also always had a love for writing and reading. I have a great husband and 2 children in college and 1 just starting high school. 1 son and 2 daughters. My dad, who I was very close to, passed away one year ago this month and I've sort of been at a loss for a year so my son has trying to get me to start this! He says nothing suits me better than writing about fashion and girl stuff all day! LOL So, here we go! My husband is John and we've been married 24 years, my oldest is my son, Clay, he is 20 and a senior at Louisiana Tech University studying Finance. My oldest daughter is Gracie Claire and she is starting Louisiana Tech this fall and plans to major in marketing also (they are following in their Dad's footsteps) and my youngest daughter is Camille, she will begin her freshman year of high school this fall. NEW YORK

My favorite City! Growing up in a small town in the south not many of my family members (the men) have been able to understand why I love New York so much!  Honestly though, what's not to love?  New York has everything (and yes, I do understand the crowds of people probably bother some).

My mom, sister-in-law, and I started making this trip once a year about 13 years ago, over the years we have had friends come along and our daughters also; this year my oldest daughter and my niece joined us, both of them just graduated high school last month and are getting ready for their big move to college!
A beautiful restaurant at
129 Mulberry Street & if
any of you know your mafia history
you know what happened here on
April 7, 1972  I learned from my son!

5th Avenue
One of the things I find so fascinating about New York City is the fact that just walking from one area to the next is like entering an entirely new city.  I can never decide which area is my favorite! They all have their own uniqueness about them and I find something to love in each one! This year, I really seemed to enjoy Soho and Little Italy the most.  The shops in Soho and the buildings will make you want to stay forever and I have to say Little Italy was the friendliest place I have been!  I got caught in a really bad rain storm in Little Italy the kind that blows your umbrella inside out and drenches you! Every restaurant I passed I was asked to come inside by the manager who was standing under the canopy and offered a drink... ON THE HOUSE!
Unfortunately, I never got
here for brunch! It is on
the top of the list for next
time!

street for my son who knows
all the mafia history and I'm so
glad I did!
